One of the biggest misconceptions people have about me as a career artist is that I get to spend all day creating. I do not. The reality is far from that. In fact, I can honestly say I had more creative time when my art was just a hobby. Once your art becomes a primary source of income, you either need to handle or have the resources to delegate things like imaging artwork, creating products, social media, managing your site, advertising, sales, applications, prospecting, creating new opportunities, and so so so much more. There are pros and cons to all the avenues of being an artist. Just food for thought. Keeping your art as a hobby and sticking in the pocket of your passion is not necessarily a bad thing. We are each on our own artist journey.
