I think one of the coolest things about being an artist is that it gives us a platform to create change and raise awareness. My "Open Wounds" collection dives deep into the darkness of depression, suicide, mental health, trauma, loss, and so much more.
This is one of the most emotionally challenging pieces I have ever created. This is "Echos Of Angels (Dedicated To Deanne Hastings And All Of Our Lost & Missing Women)." Deanne disappeared over six years ago and has yet to be found. I am working on adding a digital AR (Augmented Reality) experience to this piece for my upcoming exhibition that will also include a snippet of Deanne's voice. My hope is to raise awareness for Deanne and all of our lost and missing women. They deserve to be found. Never forget them.
